Dr Mark Craigie

Mark Craigie is a clinical psychologist in full-time private practice. He graduated from Curtin University in 2006 with a PhD and Masters in Clinical Psychology. Mark specialises in psychotherapy for adults with stress, anxiety, depression, and adjustment problems.  He also works with adults wishing to enhance their relationships, increase happiness, build resilience, or develop personal strengths. Mark is registered to provide clinical psychological services under the Medicare Health Scheme and major health insurers. He is trained and experienced in a range of therapy frameworks, including: cognitive, behavioural, metacognitive, EMDR, mindfulness, and schema therapy. An area of speciality is mindfulness training and mindfulness-based approaches for adults with anxiety and depression. Mark endeavours to tailor his approach to the particular situation and needs of the client. Issues treated include:

Mark has previously worked as research psychologist at the Department of Health, and a senior mindfulness and cognitive-behaviour therapist at The Marian Centre hospital, located in Subiaco. He estimates that more than 150 people have attended his mindfulness classes since 2008. In addition, Mark has worked as an adjunct research fellow with the School of Psychology at Curtin University working in a team investigating the benefits of psychoeducation and mindfulness for building self-care and resiliency to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. He continues to run training programs for nurses and other professionals to help reduce occupational stress and prevent burnout.
