Dr Simon Lenton

Simon Lenton Simon is a senior clinical psychologist of over 30 years experience. He has worked in government, and academia and has seen clients in private practice since 1992. Simon is a graduate of the University of Western Australia (BPsych, 1983; M. Psych (clin), 1986) and Curtin University (PhD, 2003). Simon is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs.

Simon works primarily from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy approach, helping clients to change their thoughts feelings and behaviour. He has extensive experience addressing anxiety, depression, anger and substance use issues. He is skilled at helping clients to identify their strengths and apply these capacities to other areas of their lives where they have been struggling.

Simon’s clinical interests include but are not limited to:

  • Substance use difficulties including problems associated with alcohol and other drug use
  • Emotional (e.g. anxiety, anger problems and mood disorders) and social difficulties across the life span;
  • Issues for young men and adolescents in transition to adulthood;
  • Issues for elite sportspeople associated with substance use and emotional and social difficulties.
  • Simon is available for daytime and evening appointments.
